Neonatal bacterial infection is diagnosed when the acute phase reactants score (APR-Sc) positive for 3 items of CRP, α1-acid glycoprotein (AGP), and haptoglobin (Hp), 2 points are items, CRP AGP. However, mechanism by which presence or absence an increase in Hp, difference between points, not known.
